EuroParcs Group has taken an interest in Kärntner Schluga GmbH, owner of, among other things, a campsite in Carinthia near the Italian border. Initially, the Seecamping on the Pressegger See will be completely renovated and sustainably upgraded. The innovative holiday park concept with attractive mobile homes should attract tourists all year round. With this participation, Austria is the fourth country in which EuroParcs Group is active.

Carinthia

EuroParcs Group has deliberately chosen the popular Carinthia. It is an area where nature and winter sports enthusiasts will get their money's worth. As a result, there is a shortage of more than 6,000 guest beds and there is an urgent need to expand the holiday offer. In the first phase, the Seecamping will be modernized into a 4-season holiday park. 40 trendy mobile homes are planned to be build, as well as an upgrade of the outdoor pool to a 4-star indoor pool with an attached wellness facility, which will also be accessible for locals.

Employment incentive

“The renewals will take place gradually, with EuroParcs dependent on local management and local partners”, explains Andries Bruil, board member of EuroParcs Group. “The jobs of the 60 employees of Schluga GmbH will be maintained, although it is already clear that the planned year-round tourism will increase the workforce by about 25 percent. We are currently looking for a local park manager.”

Sustainable added value

The involvement of the local economy is part of the successful concept of the EuroParcs Group, which continues to grow in terms of revenue and organisation. The revenue has increased in a short time to about 280 million euros, the number of employees has grown to more than 750 employees. Andries Bruil: “EuroParcs Group can provide such growth figures thanks to a strong foundation and a clear vision. Our philosophy is to create sustainable added value, in every region where we operate. We see ourselves as partners to develop something together that benefits the community as a whole. In appearance, in employment and in the growth of tourism, which benefits both the local catering industry and the retail sector.”

Strong partner

Collaborative talks with local entrepreneurs are already being planned in July and an open day for the locals in the autumn. Klaus Schrittesser, Country Manager at EuroParcs: "We combine international know-how with the experience of a well-runned and therefore regionally leading company," says the native Carinthian. Norbert Schluga Jr. from the Austrian park is also pleased with the collaboration: "In the EuroParcs Group, we have found a strong and visionary partner with whom we can help tourism to be ready for the future."
