Huis Doorn is also the site of the mausoleum of the last German Emperor, Wilhelm II, who fled to the Netherlands at the end of the First World War, was granted asylum here, and ended up living in Doorn castle for more than twenty years. At Woudenberg, you can find the seventeen-metre-high Pyramid of Austerlitz, built in 1804 by Napoleon's soldiers, and topped with a stone obelisk in 1894.
