Get to know Resort Kaatsheuvel’s surroundings. First stop is the enchanting holiday park’s magical neighbour, the famous Efteling amusement park, known around the world for its many attractions and its Fairy-tale Forest, where all your favourite fairy tales come to life and transport you to another world. Just around the corner is the De Loonse en Drunense Duinen National Park, sometimes called the “Sahara of Brabant” because of its many sand drifts. And all around us, you’ll find over 35km2 of colourful forests and heathland. The perfect area for short or long-distance hikes or bike rides or taking the kids to play in the sand and among the trees.
The Kaatsheuvel area is home to a lot of Dutch wildlife, but if you’re looking for something more exotic you can visit the Beekse Bergen Safari Park, where you will get close to lions, rhinoceroses, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and giraffes, who are all roaming around freely. Another must for animal lovers is the small-scale De Oliemeulen animal park in the city of Tilburg, where you can witness impressive raptor shows, wrap a snake around your neck - if this is something you are interested in doing - or you can even hold a tarantula in your hand.
The city of Tilburg is a 20-minute drive from EuroParcs Resort Kaatsheuvel. Besides its tasty city brewery and fascinating textile museum, you should consider visiting the remarkable Doloris’ Meta Maze: an indoor labyrinth where you have to navigate blindfolded through a maze filled with artworks and where you will have to climb, crawl and slide to find your way to the next area. Tilburg also offers plenty of excellent shopping opportunities and all kinds of other sights, such as the palace of 19th-century Dutch king William II.
A 30-minute drive away from EuroParcs Resort Kaatsheuvel will bring you to the beautiful city of Breda, with its inviting city centre, many bars, cafés, and restaurants, and the Breda Castle – a must see. And for all you reptile fans: the De Aarde reptile house is the place to be if you are looking for turtles, lizards, snakes, and crocodiles.
Nearby the resort, the town of Waalwijk offers a unique experience: jumping, skipping, and summersaulting to your heart’s content at the Jump XL Trampoline Park Waalwijk, where dozens of large trampolines have been linked together to create one giant, bouncy surface.
