Then treat yourself to a visit to De Zwarte Dennen, a pond with an adjoining sandy beach.
The resort is surrounded by nature, but if you want to step it up a notch, take a 30-minute drive to the Veluwe or to the Wieribben-Wieden national park, with its dense vegetation and overgrown waterways, floating islands, reed beds and low-nutrient meadows. Admire the typical marsh inhabitants, such as birds, fish, mammals and insects, among the diverse vegetation and unique flora.

Ooievaarsbuitenstation De Lokkerij is an outdoor stork centre that deserves a visit, just like the popular Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen, just 40 minutes from the resort.
The Venice of the North An inspiring location, just a 30-minute drive from the resort, is without a doubt the “Venice of the North”, Giethoorn. Treat yourself to a unique experience and book a boat trip around the famous village! Another interesting attraction is Museum Staphorst, where you will discover the secrets and history of a village that refuses to let go of its traditions. Keen to combine culture and shopping? Definitely head to Meppel, a 15-minute drive from the holiday resort near IJhorst. Meppel is a small town, but it has so much to offer. Its rich history in trade has left its mark on the town, with many warehouses and other monuments scattered all over the centre. More culture, history and shopping fun? Then Zwolle is the place to be, just a 30-minute drive from the holiday resort.
More interested in Dutch history? Then the dolmens of Havelte should definitely be on your list. These megalithic tombs are five thousand years old. Havelte is just 13 km from the resort.
Slagharen is nearby If you’re looking for action and adventure for the kids, just 17 km from Resort Reestervallei you will find the famous Slagharen amusement park. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a day out with the family, from the Wild West to Mexico, Carnival in New Orleans and much more. The little ones will definitely enjoy a trip to Plopsa Indoor Coevorden to step into the world of their heroes, from Mega Mindy to Kabouter Plop, Piet Piraat, Bumba and K3 Disco. In the heart of the village of Exloo, in Drenthe, you will find Kabouterland, the land of gnomes, trolls and animals guaranteed to brighten up your day. The kids will love the many indoor and outdoor play areas.
