The project is still under construction, but the major nature project Marker Wadden in the Markermeer, between the Enkhuizen and Lelystad line, makes it even more interesting to invest and rent on the North Holland resorts of EuroParcs: Resort De Rijp and especially Resort Markermeer near Bovenkarspel and Resort Poort van Amsterdam near Uitdam. Natuurmonumenten did a check on Friday and found that there are already four species of bats alive: the common pipistrelle bat, the little pipistrelle bat, the rough pipistrelle bat and the late kite. Especially the sighting of the little pipistrelle bat was unexpected since this animal normally settles in buildings. The ninety volunteers also found fifty bird species and 120 plant species as well as a great diversity in insects and flowers. Under water, divers noticed the presence of wreathweed, which means that the quality of the water is a must. The Marker Wadden project involves the construction of five islands. The main island can already be visited, in total the new nature reserve comprises 750 hectares. It will be delivered next year and then it promises to be a crowd puller. That will translate to the occupancy rate of our North Holland resorts. If you want to know more about the possibilities to invest or to stay at these resorts, please contact us!
