Still not sure whether a holiday home is right for your group trip? We have put together the advantages of a holiday home for you.

Planning a group trip: Tips for organising and distributing tasks

If you are going on holiday with several people, it makes sense to set up a group chat and appoint a trip coordinator to keep track of things. This way, you can discuss your holiday wishes, equipment preferences, etc., and divide the organisational tasks between you.

For example, one person can organise the food during the trip and find out where you can eat out or where the nearest supermarket is. Someone else can look at activities and buy tickets if you want to visit a museum nearby. In this way, everyone contributes to the planning and the anticipation of the group trip is encouraged.

Clarify the key questions: What do you want to do on your holiday?

Before you go on holiday with your friends, you should decide on a focus for your trip together. What do you want to do on holiday? Do you just want to relax, get away from it all and enjoy your time together with good conversation? Or do you want to experience something together, explore the surroundings and be as active as possible?

Depending on what you want to do, different types of accommodation are suitable for your holiday. If you are travelling a lot and would rather spend your holiday money on activities than on accommodation, camping or glamping is a good option for you. And if you want to take it a little easier and spend more time in your accommodation, then a holiday home with a sauna and garden is just right for you. By the way: we have a huge selection of wellness holiday homes that are perfect for a group trip to the Netherlands.

Planning and tips for a smooth trip

The holiday is planned, the perfect accommodation is found - but how will you get there? By car, bus and train, or is it so far away that you'll be flying?

With a large group and luggage, getting to and from your holiday destination needs to be well planned. If you're travelling in one or more cars, make sure one person doesn't have to drive the whole way alone and take turns if possible. And if you are travelling by public transport, such as bus or train, be aware of delays that could cause you to miss your connection and look for alternatives in case of an emergency.

Our holiday parks are all easily accessible by car, and some by public transport. So choose your favourite holiday park, pack your bags and go on your well-deserved holiday without long waits at the airport!

Planning excursions & activities for the group trip

Where should the trip go? It's a good idea to find out about walking and cycling trails or interesting places to visit in the area before the group trip. Perhaps there are exciting attractions, exhibitions or national parks near your group accommodation?

And if you're planning a sports-packed holiday and the weather isn't cooperating, consider alternatives such as a trip to the cinema or a day at the museum. That way, you'll have a great day out together, even if the weather is bad.

For the best tips on what to do, see and see in the area, visit each Holiday Park page. You can find out what you can do at the holiday park and what there is to discover in the surrounding area. This way you can plan the activities for your group trip and decide together what you want to do.

Group trips & group accommodation at the holiday park

Why go on a group holiday with the whole family or a group of friends? There are lots of reasons! For example, you can book a large holiday home or several holiday homes next to each other. A group holiday is not only a lot of fun, it can also be very economical:

  • Rented holiday homes are usually cheaper than booked hotels because several people can share the accommodation. What's more, in a holiday park you can enjoy the comforts of your own home. At the same time, all the holiday homes in the group are close to each other. This means you can get away from it all and have the same starting point for excursions and the like.

  • You can also move around freely and plan an evening of cooking together if you wish. You are not tied to hotel meal times. There is no need to travel individually for planned activities as everyone is on site and can start together.

  • Because holiday parks are tailored to the needs of their guests, they are usually located in the heart of the best holiday destinations. This means there is no need for long journeys. Holiday parks usually have a reception. This means easy check-in and check-out and a contact person on site. Ideal for group holidays!

  • Depending on the park, facilities such as restaurants, playgrounds and spa areas are available. Depending on the location, EuroParcs also have their own sports grounds, boat hire, a beach or even an adventure park.
